Origins in the Universe
Four hundred years ago when Galileo turned his tiny telescope to the night sky our view of the Universe changed forever. Since that historic moment, we have continued to gain an appreciation for the vastness of space, while struggling to find our place in it. We ask: Where did we come from? Are we alone? Today, astronomers look deep inside the dark regions of space and explore the hidden universe within. Peering far enough back in time, we now explore the very origin of the Universe itself. For this festival, NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope Science Center and One Colorado will explore "Origins in the Universe" in Old Pasadena - with short videos, theatrical scientific demonstrations, an opportunity to "Ask an Astronomer", and spectacular cosmic imagery.

Award winning short videos with spectacular images and dazzling results from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope will run continuously from dusk to around 10:00 pm in the One Colorado Courtyard.
Origins in the universe: Ask an astronomer

"Ask an Astronomer": meet astronomers from NASA's Spitzer Science Center at Caltech on Fridays and Saturdays during the festival. Interactive theatric demonstrations for kids, and kids at heart, will be presented along with the opportunity for all to ask an astronomer questions about "astronomical origins".
